DB Schenker opens new logistics centre in Sydney

Schenker Australia continues its strategic consolidation of facilities for key logistics customers in Australia, with the opening of a new logistics hub in Yennora.
The Sydneyoperations will now be streamlined in the new logistics hub, which is
strategically located on the rail line spur connecting it to the main
Sydney-to-Melbourne and Sydney-to-Brisbane railway and Port Botany.
The
location of Yennora offers the potential to feed freight into the
interstate rail freight terminal. By integrating road and rail
transport, Schenker Australia will be able to reduce road transport and the number of trucks in the currently congested Sydney metro area.
The
new facility consists of two buildings (20,000 m2 and 12,000 m2) joined
by a 3,800 m2 breezeway to enable 100% undercover operation from goods
arrival to despatch.
The
facility also features 27 rear loading docks, nine roller door access
and a security system comprising full access control, alarm, monitoring
and 24/7 CCTV coverage.
Schenker Australia will also open a new green mega hub at Melbourne's international airport in July.
